USC Fisher Museum of Art
Brand Design
April 2023
[02]
The Fisher Museum of Art came to us seeking a website refresh that could better reflect their identity as a contemporary art space within the USC community. Like many university-affiliated organizations, they had been working within a rigid, school-issued web template that lacked flexibility and did not effectively showcase their exhibitions or mission.
I designed a modern, visually engaging website that highlights the museum’s role on campus and its strong connection to both artists and the broader Los Angeles community. The site was built to feature current and past exhibitions, spotlight artists, and tell the story of founder Emily Fisher, as well as the curators and creative voices behind each show. It was important to the museum that the site balance institutional credibility with a vibrant and contemporary aesthetic that reflected the quality of the work they present.
USC has extensive accessibility requirements, so I worked closely with the university’s accessibility team to ensure that the site met all compliance standards while maintaining a clean and user-friendly design. Throughout the process, we met with key stakeholders at the museum to make sure the site aligned with their goals and vision for the future.
The final result is a website that gives the Fisher Museum a stronger digital presence, one that honors their legacy while better reflecting their ongoing contribution to the art community.
